Kintsugi | 金継ぎ

Kintsugi, translated as golden repair, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. Not only is there no attempt to hide the damage, but the repair is quite literally illuminated. This photo book reflects this art on the human body, highlighting imperfections and scars.

“A scar does not form on the dying. A scar means, I survived.”
